2022 NFL Draft: Grades for Logan Bruss and Every Other Los Angeles Rams Pick

The Los Angeles Rams swung for the fences last year and certainly got the home run they were aiming for. With a number of big-time moves, none more significant than the acquisition of quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Rams bolstered their roster with a “Super Bowl or bust” mentality, and it paid off as they captured the franchise's second Super Bowl victory.

The team will look a little different in 2022 as Von Miller signed a surprisingly large contract with the Buffalo Bills. There's still a chance Odell Beckham Jr. returns, but even if he does, it won't be for a while as he'll be recovering from yet another torn ACL. But even if OBJ signs elsewhere, the Rams already replaced him with Allen Robinson.

LA improved its roster a bit more in the 2022 NFL Draft but had to wait a while to do so as the Rams' first pick didn't come until the end of the third round at No. 104 overall, where they chose Wisconsin offensive lineman Logan Bruss. They then added an additional seven players over the next two days.

As the Rams were unable to re-sign Austin Corbett in the offseason, drafting help on the offensive line with their first pick was a good move. And they got a solid player in Logan Bruss, who mainly played tackle at Wisconsin but will likely move to guard in the NFL.

No. 142 Overall: Cobie Durant, CB, South Carolina State

The Rams certainly have needs at cornerback, but there were better options out there at this juncture than Cobie Durant, who probably still would have been there in the next round or two.

Grade: C

No. 164 Overall: Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame

Notre Dame's Kyren Williams is a decent prospect and a good receiver out of the backfield, but the Rams really didn't need to take a running back.

Grade: C+

No. 211 Overall: Quentin Lake, S, UCLA

This is a decent pick at No. 211. The Rams need help at safety, and Quentin Lake fits the bill. And he knows the area, so that's nice.

Grade: B-

No. 212 Overall: Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia

On talent alone, Derion Kendrick grades relatively high. But there's been some character concerns, including his dismissal from Clemson and a gun charge (which has been dropped) that could come into play. But not much risk here in the sixth round.

Grade: C+

No. 235 Overall: Daniel Hardy, DE, Montana State

Many had Daniel Hardy going in the fifth or sixth round, so this is a bit of a steal for the Rams at No. 235. Good upside.

Grade: B+

No. 253 Overall: Russ Yeast, S, Louisville

Yeast likely would have gone a round or two earlier if not for a knee issue, so could end up being a great value pick for the champs.

Grade: B-

No. 261 Overall: A.J. Arcuri, OT/G, Michigan State

It's hard to give a “C” to a compensatory pick at No. 261, but I don't know if A.J. Arcuri will be the best pass blocker at the NFL level.

Grade: C
