Kyle Larson Bags a Quick $25,000 During a Midweek Detour to a Pennsylvania Dirt Track

It's certainly been a busy week for reigning NASCAR Cup Series champ Kyle Larson.
This past Saturday at Road America, he made his first Xfinity Series start since 2018 and nearly earned his 13th victory. Driving the No. 17 car for Hendrick Motorsports — the first HMS car to enter an Xfinity Series race since 2009 — Larson finished as the runner-up behind Ty Gibbs, who captured his fourth checkered flag of the year.
On Sunday, back in his regular No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevy, Larson finished third in the Cup Series race in Elkhart Lake, his eighth top-five finish of the season. The 29-year-old now sits in fourth place in the Cup Series points standings.
This week, the Cup Series returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway, where Larson has four top-10s, including a pair of runner-up finishes, in nine starts. But on the way from Wisconsin to Georgia, the California native made a little detour to Pennsylvania and bagged a quick $25,000.

Wednesday evening marked the 31st running of the Don Silver Memorial Cup at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. The sprint car event was formerly sanctioned by the World of Outlaws but is now part of the schedule for the All Star Circuit of Champions, which has been owned by three-time NASCAR Cup Series champ Tony Stewart since 2015.
Larson has previously competed in the dirt-track event, winning the Silver Cup in 2018. And the 17-time Cup Series winner picked up victory number two on Wednesday.
Starting in sixth position in the 30-lap race, Larson quickly moved into fourth before an accident brought out the caution flag on the third lap and then swiftly moved into second ahead of a caution on lap 5. On the restart, he went to the outside to pass the polesitter, Brent Marks, and led the rest of the way. Larson picked up a quick $25,000 for his effort.
The victory was the 27th for Kyle Larson in the All Star Circuit of Champions.
