4 NBA Coaches That Could Be on the Hot-Seat This Year

The NBA season is just a few weeks away, and while there are teams with championship aspirations, there are also a few who will be looking at the bottom of the standings in 2019-20. There are four NBA coaches who have the hottest seats in the league and could see themselves seeking employment somewhere else at the end of the regular season. Today, we will highlight those coaches and what needs to be done for them to keep their jobs.

Frank Vogel- Los Angeles Lakers

How can an NBA coach be on the hot seat before coaching his first game with the team? Take over a team that is led by LeBron James. We all know how powerful LeBron's influence is on the entire league.

Just ask David Blatt what it was like to coach LeBron James in Cleveland. Vogel's teams in Indiana were known for their defense, as he helped develop Paul George into one of the league's best two-way players.

The Lakers are one of the favorites to win the NBA championship after landing Anthony Davis, and anything less than a trip to the Finals should be seen as a failure. If the Lakers get bounced early, Vogel may not see a second season.

Brett Brown- Philadelphia 76ers

Trusting the process is over. On paper, the Philadelphia 76ers may have the best starting five in the NBA. They have All-NBA talents in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, to go along with Tobias Harris and Al Horford. While Milwaukee was the No. 1 seed in the East last year, we think the Sixers can win over 50 games and have home-court advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

If Philadelphia doesn't make it to the NBA Finals Brown could see the axe at the end of the season.

Bill Donovan- Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder are clearly rebuilding the franchise and missing the playoffs. It shouldn't immediately be viewed as Billy Donovan's fault. However, his failures in the playoffs have shown that he simply can't out-scheme other coaches.

The Thunder have seen first-round exits each of the last two seasons, and it will be intriguing to see whether the team moves Chris Paul before the All-Star break. With Paul leading the team it still may not be enough for OKC to make it in the playoffs as a No. 8 seed.

Donovan hasn't done enough in the playoffs and with a plethora of draft picks over the next six seasons, a new regime could come in to give the team a different identity.

Scott Brooks- Washington Wizards

What are the Wizards going to do with Bradley Beal and John Wall? With Eric Gordon's recent contract extension, will Beal's asking price go up to stay in Washington? We think he could still be moved for the right price, but if the Wizards keep the roster as is it will need to be a playoff appearance (without the services of Wall) in order for Scott Brooks to keep his job.

That could be a tough task even in the watered-down East, where we expect Washington to struggle to pick up wins. Would the Wizards be better off finding a new coach after moving one of their big two stars? We will see if the ownership group comes to that decision at the end of the year.

Which NBA coach has the hottest seat this season?

Taking a look at the four NBA coaches who are on the hot seat for this upcoming NBA season, who do you think is most likely to get fired? Our money is on Billy Donovan, as the Thunder will have too many draft picks at their disposal, and more than likely don't see Donovan as the leader of the franchise heading into the 2020s.
