Kurt Warner almost never received a chance to prove himself as an NFL quarterback. After going undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft, the Northern Iowa product picked up a local job bagging groceries at a Cedar Falls grocery store for $5.50 an hour. Warner went on to play three seasons in the Arena Football League and one in NFL Europe before finally winning a starting NFL job in 1999 with the St. Louis Rams. All he did in his first year at the helm was win the MVP award and lead the Rams to a Super Bowl title.
More than two decades later, Warner is now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is regarded as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. He made an impressive chunk of change along the way, too.

Warner's Hall of Fame NFL career got off to a rocky start. In fact, it wasn't much of a start at all.
The QB didn't hear his name called during the 1994 NFL Draft, and after spending training camp with the Green Bay Packers, he was cut before the regular season began. It took Warner five years to finally win a starting job in the NFL. He spent that hiatus bagging groceries in Cedar Falls, playing for the Iowa Barnstormers in the AFL, and starting for the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe.
In 1998, Warner joined the Rams and spent the season as the team's third-string QB. A Trent Green injury forced Warner into the starting spot in 1999, and the rest is history. The QB went on to win two MVP awards, throw for more than 32,000 passing yards and 208 touchdowns, and win a Super Bowl title.
Along the way, Warner banked more than $62.7 million in earnings. More than half of that total came from his five years with the Cardinals, where he earned $31.5 million over the course of three contracts.
