Mike Tyson can now say that Dana White is in his corner as he prepares for a comeback fight.

Mike Tyson looks to be in prime fighting shape. Well, at least for a guy who's 53 years old. As the world waits to find out if he will step into the boxing ring again, Iron Mike will have at least one prominent figure in his corner in Dana White.

That might seem surprising considering the UFC president hasn't supported a Tyson comeback. Whether it's his insane training videos or his sheer will, Mike Tyson has turned Dana White into a hypocrite and he should be absolutely thrilled.

While most of us have packed on the pounds huddling away in quarantine, Mike Tyson has been training intensely for a boxing comeback. Despite his advanced age, he appears to be in ridiculous shape. In fact, he makes guys decade younger than him look downright sloppy.

Thanks to some viral video clips, the world has gotten a glimpse of the 53-year-old legend's powerful punches and rocked-up body. Tyson may not have the same chops as he did in his prime, but there's no denying he looks quite lethal.

His comeback story even generated some buzz about him taking on New Zealand All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams. The fight would have been a great charitable cause, but ultimately it would have likely resulted in SBW's demise. However, a number of legit boxing opponents have been discussed as part of Tyson's comeback.

Opinions can change in no time at all. At least, that's the lesson Dana White taught us. Just weeks ago, the face of UFC stood on one side of the Tyson comeback fence. He essentially begged his friend to stay away from the ring. Yet, White recently went on ESPN and totally backtracked from his previous stance.

“Originally, I came out and said, ‘Listen, I'd like Mike not to fight,'” said White, who has had a close friendship with Tyson for many years. “I even got Mike a TV show, to try and keep him from fighting. But Mike Tyson is a grown man, he can do whatever. The guy is powerful, looks explosive and has gotten himself in great shape.

Though he may be viewed as a hypocrite, it can't hurt for Tyson to have a powerful friend supporting him. And let's just say Dana White isn't going to let any social distancing or coronavirus pandemic rules stop him from seeing the 53-year-old step into the ring.

“I'll be at this one, I will absolutely go,” White said. “I don't care if there's no crowd allowed. I'll figure out how to get into that one.”

Tyson Fury recently put his name out there, which would certainly make for an interesting matchup. The 31-year-old British boxer is a two-time heavyweight champion who stands 6-foot-9. Boxing fans, and sports fans in general, would certainly tune in to watch the current star take on the living legend.

Dana White's former champion, Tito Ortiz, has also been in the mix as a possible opponent for Mike Tyson. That would be an unconventional matchup that might make White reconsider his loyalties. Let's see if he backtracks once again if his two friends square off in the ring.
