NFL Preseason Schedule 2024: Opponents, Dates, & Times

The NFL released the full preseason schedule for the 2024 season on Friday. The league announced television networks and kickoff times for the preseason slate of games.

Five 2024 NFL preseason games will be televised nationally

Five preseason games will be televised nationally, beginning with quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears playing the Houston Texans on Aug. 1 in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio (8 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC).

Of course, the second week of the preseason features the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 18 (8 p.m. ET, Fox).

Three national windows are scheduled for Week 3, beginning with the Indianapolis Colts-Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 22 (8 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video).

On Aug. 25, the Arizona Cardinals-Denver Broncos (4:30 p.m. ET, CBS) is first, followed by the New England Patriots-Washington Commanders (8 p.m. ET, NBC).

Nevertheless, the Colts-Bengals matchup on the schedule is exclusive to Prime Video.

NFL fans are once again looking forward to the Hall of Fame Game. This year's matchup will give everyone their first glimpse of quarterback Caleb Williams, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Bears in the 2024 draft.

Preseason games run from Aug. 1-25

Additionally, five other quarterbacks were taken in the first round of the draft: Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, Drake Maye of the Patriots, J.J. McCarthy of the Minnesota Vikings, Bo Nix of the Broncos, and Michael Penix Jr. of the Atlanta Falcons.

Williams, Daniels, Maye, McCarthy, and Nix will have a chance to start in Week 1 of the regular season, depending on how each quarterback performs in the preseason.

However, Penix is expected to hold a backup role with the Falcons behind Kirk Cousins.

Preseason games run Aug. 1-25 before the regular season opens with a rematch of last season's AFC Championship Game between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Furthermore, the Chiefs are aiming to become the first NFL franchise to three-peat.

Last season, they became the first team since the 2004 Patriots to win back-to-back Super Bowls. Kansas City became the eighth franchise to repeat as well.
