Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Gets $6M Raise For 2024 in Reworked Contract

The Las Vegas Raiders are giving three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby a $6 million raise for the upcoming 2024 season without adding any years to his NFL contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Las Vegas Raiders are moving $1.2 million from Maxx Crosby's 2026 salary into the 2025 season

Maxx Crosby was due to have base salaries of $19.01 million, $21.038 million, and $21.038 million the next three seasons. The Raiders are also moving $1.2 million from his 2026 salary into the 2025 season.

Crosby, who turns 27 in August, was selected 106th overall by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Eastern Michigan. His first name is indicative of how large (11 pounds, 9 ounces) he was at birth.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound edge rusher for the Silver and Black has emerged as the team's top defender since signing a four-year extension with $95 million in new money and more than $53 million guaranteed on March 11, 2022.

Raiders reworked the contract of three-time Pro Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to give him a $6 million raise for the upcoming season, per league sources.

The team also moved an additional $1.2 million into 2025.

Over the past two seasons, he amassed 27 of his 52 career sacks and finished twice in the top six of NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting. Through 83 career games, he has 205 solo tackles and nine forced fumbles.

Additionally, the Texas native was named second-team All-Pro last season after recording a career-best 14.5 sacks. It marked his third year in which he recorded a double-digit sack total.

Crosby also won Pro Bowl defensive MVP in 2022 and was selected second-team All-Pro after the 2021 season with the Raiders.

Being a Raider is something special for Crosby

“It's been a blessing. I mean, it's been a damn journey, and for me, all that matters at the end of the day is winning, winning for this organization,” Maxx Crosby said at the start of Las Vegas' offseason workout program in April.

“I pour my heart and soul into this, and I want to be the best leader and teammate I can be on a daily basis. ... Being a Raider is something that's special to me.

“I've got real relationships from the owner all the way down to the janitor. I'm here every day for a reason. It's like a family. There's not many teams that operate like we do. We've just got to translate that to winning. ... It's just exciting to get things rolling again.”

Crosby continues to receive praise from coaches and teammates for his commitment to attend offseason workouts.

“Every day [Crosby] shows up ready to work, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said at the owners meetings in March. “So when you've got those kinds of guys in your building, either vocally or by example, you've got a good culture and a good place.”

While on X on Jan. 12, Crosby publicly called for the Raiders to remove Pierce's interim tag and hire him as a full-time head coach after the 2023 season. A week later, Las Vegas finally hired Pierce as the team's full-time head coach.

Moreover, Crosby's Pro-Football-Reference Hall of Fame monitor is 25.55. His rating ranks 168th among defensive ends on the all-time list. The average NFL Hall of Fame DE is 104.09. The lowest score for Hall of Fame inductees is 40.
