Tennessee Sports Betting Handle Up 20.7% YoY

In Tennessee, their sports betting handle increased by 20.7% from April 2023. Bettors in the state wagered $384.2 million on sports in April. That data was provided by the Tennessee Sports Wagering Advisory Council (SWAC). Despite their betting handle being up 20.7% year-over-year, it was still down significantly from the $473 million in March 2024. March is a busy time of the year with March Madness and NBA for sportsbooks to profit from. They collected $7 million from sports betting privilege tax. A 9.4% increase from April 2023.

What sportsbooks are active in Tennessee?

The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council doesn’t publish data regarding monthly revenue or information for individual operators. Despite that, we have some info on sportsbooks in the Volunteer State. BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings have all been in Tennessee since the legal market opened in November 2020. One of the newest additions to the sports betting market in Tennessee is Fanatics Sportsbook. Additionally, ESPN BET launched in November 2023 and is currently live in 17 states. 

In September 2022, Har Rock Bet launched in Tennessee. Additionally, Caesars runs its sportsbook via a multi-year partnership with Tennesee-based sports teams. That includes the Memphis Grizzlies.
