The Pennsylvania Gaming Industry hit a new record-high revenue in March with $554.6 million

For the second time in three months, Pennsylvania has set a new record for revenue made in a single month. Their gaming industry is beyond thriving and is one of the best in a highly competitive market. In March, the state reached $554.6 million in income collected. This comes from brick-and-mortar casinos, iGaming, retail and online sports betting, video gaming terminals, and fantasy sports. 

These figures were released by the Pennsylvania Controlling Game Board (PCGB) on Wednesday. Last month, the state made $534.2 million in income collected. In total, it’s a (7.6%) increase from March of 2023. Proving that the gaming industry in Pennsylvania is thriving and is here to stay. 

Breaking down where all the revenue came from for Pennsylvania in March

In the Keystone State, online gaming income saw strong growth with a total of $191.1 million. Online table games generated $53.1 million. That’s  (32.1%) increase from March of 2023. Pennsylvania’s online slots generated a revenue of $135.5 million and a (29.3%) increase compared to the previous year. From all online gaming provided in Pennsylvania, that was nearly a (30%) increase annually. 

The Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantsville, Pennsylvania had the most income of any casino in the state. They made $88.2 million in gaming income. An (8.9%) increase from the previous year. Second in gaming income was the Valley Forge Casino Respirt with $88.0 million, just shy of the Hollywood Casino. Wrapping up in third was the Parx Casino with $59.5 million. A slight (1.5%) decline from 2023. 

Hollywood Casino in Grantsville was also the leader in online gaming income with $72.3 million. That’s a (16.0%) increase. Next was the Valley Forge Casino with $50.8 million. Taking a massive (59.7%) increase. Rivers Casino in Philadelphia totaled $32.7 million which was down (2.4%). In total, that a (27%) surge in online gaming over the last calendar year for Pennsuylvania’s gaming industry.

Sports wagering income played a big role in the overall success of Pennsylvania during March

Valley Forge Casino Resort collected $24,3 million from a sports betting handle of $333.2 million. Next was the Hollywood Casino at the Meadowlands with $10.7 million in income from from a sports betting handle of $209.2 million. Finally, the Hollywood Casino at Morgantown made $1.7 million from a sports betting handle of $51.9 million.
