With the exception of two seasons in the 1970s, the Dallas Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving Day every year since 1966 and continue that tradition in 2022 with a matchup against the New York Giants.

The NFC East rivals have surprisingly only battled one previous time on Turkey Day, that coming all the way back in 1992 when Dallas took an easy 30-3 victory at the old Texas Stadium. The Cowboys went on to win their first of three Super Bowl titles in the '90s that season.

As for this year's matchup, the Cowboys are coming in hot after steamrolling the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday by a score of 40-3, as Dallas dominated on both sides of the ball. The defense sacked Kirk Cousins seven times and also snapped his 39-game streak of throwing at least one touchdown pass.

Meanwhile, the offense was firing on all cylinders, accumulating 458 total yards (307 passing, 151 rushing) in the lopsided victory.

The Giants, on the other hand, are coming off a home loss to another Thanksgiving Day regular as they were soundly beaten by the Detroit Lions, 31-18. The Detroit defense completely shut down Saquon Barkley, who ran for a season-low 22 yards on 15 carries.

Daniel Jones threw for a season-best 341 yards and a touchdown but also threw a pair of picks in the loss, marking his first game with an interception since Week 3.

New York also lost that game. And to whom was that loss? That would be the Dallas Cowboys, who've won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two teams. To make matters worse for the Giants, they didn't even have to play against Dak Prescott back in September, instead taking a loss to Cooper Rush.

And Dak just played his best game of the season, completing a ridiculous 88% of his passes for 276 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win over the Vikings, which is just one reason Dallas enters this Thanksgiving Day showdown as the heavy favorite.

The Cowboys and Giants renew their rivalry on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern on Fox.
