Phil Jackson is one of the greatest coaches of all-time, not just in basketball but in all of sports. Everyone is getting a look at how great he was by watching The Last Dance documentary lately. Jackson’s interesting coaching style helped him become an 11-time NBA champion as head coach of the Chicago Bulls and Los Angles Lakers. Because of all of his success, Jackson has a pretty large net worth. His net worth, however, is not nearly as large as his ex-fiancé's.

Before becoming a legendary head coach, Phil Jackson had a successful playing career. He spent 13 seasons in the NBA, spending 11 with the New York Knicks and two with the New Jersey Nets. He was not ever one of the top scorers in the league, but he was a nice role player. Jackson actually won a championship with the Knicks in 1972-73.
After some time as an assistant coach and as a coach in the CBA, Jackson became the head coach of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls before the 1989-90 season. In just Jackson’s second season as the Bulls’ head coach, they won the NBA championship. They did not just do that, though. The Bulls went on to three-peat.
Jackson and the Chicago Bulls took a two-year break from winning championships when Michael Jordan decided to try baseball out. However, they successfully completed a three-peat again from 1995-96 through 1997-98.
After the 1997-98 season, though, Jackson did not return to the Chicago Bulls, and he did not coach during the 1998-99 season. However, in his first season as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1999-2000, the Lakers won the championship. Like the Bulls, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and the Lakers then ultimately completed a three-peat.
Jackson ultimately won two more championships with the Lakers in 2008-09 and 2009-10, giving him 11 titles as a head coach. He has not been a head coach since 2010-11.
Jackson and Jeanie Buss had a long relationship
Starting in 1999, Phil Jackson, the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, dated the team owner’s daughter, Jeanie Buss, according to Sports Illustrated. Jeanie, the daughter of one of the most successful owners in all of sports, Dr. Jerry Buss, is currently the governor and controlling owner of the Lakers. She took control of the Lakers in 2017 after her father had passed away in 2013, according to NBA.com.
Jackson proposed to Jeanie in December 2012, according to Sports Illustrated. However, in 2014 Jackson became president of the New York Knicks. Things then got complicated as both Jackson and Jeanie had huge things going on with their teams and careers that they could not talk about, according to ESPN.
Jeanie Buss and Phil Jackson ultimately ended their engagement in 2016, according to Sports Illustrated. Jackson said this according to SI, “With the nature of our professional obligations and the geographic distance between us, sustaining the relationship has been difficult. We have shared many wonderful moments through the years, and we expect to remain supportive of each other in the future.”

Phil Jackson was an incredible coach. He has been super successful throughout his entire life, which has ultimately made him very wealthy.
