Proline NHL Bettors Win Big in Stars' Game 3 Victory Over Oilers

Proline NHL bettors earned quite the victory in the Dallas Stars' 5-3 road win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of the Western Conference final. Only 42% of Proline gamblers had Dallas taking a 2-1 series lead, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.

Most Proline NHL bettors expected the Edmonton Oilers to win Game 3

Jason Robertson completed his first-career playoff hat trick midway through the third period. Jake Oettinger made 26 saves. Roope Hintz, Jamie Benn, and Tyler Seguin had two assists each.

“You want to help the team win, you want to score goals,” said Robertson, who hadn’t found the back of the net since Game 6 of the first round. “Scoring one gives you confidence … like a domino effect.”

The Stars scored three goals in 3:33 during the second period to take a 3-2 lead. Their three goals were the quickest trio in Dallas' postseason history since moving to Texas in 1993.

Dallas is now 6-1 in the playoffs away from American Airlines Center.

About 70% of bettors had the over on 5.5 total goals

Despite the Stars' upset, about 70% of bettors picked the over on 5.5 total goals. Approximately 90% of wagers had Connor McDavid going over 0.5 total goals as well.

McDavid finished with a goal and an assist to give him 100 career playoff points. Zach Hyman and Adam Henrique also scored for Edmonton, which got 17 stops from Stuart Skinner.

“A real good start,” said McDavid. “I’m not sure where those 10, 15 minutes come from, but it’s as bad as it’s been throughout the playoffs.”

Only 40% of gamblers picked the New York Rangers on the puck-line in Game 3

The Stars and Oilers are scheduled to face off again in Game 4 on Wednesday night.

As for the other playoff series, the New York Rangers defeated the Florida Panthers 5-4 in overtime Sunday night for a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference final. Just 36% of bettors had the Rangers winning, and only 33% correctly picked the over for 5.5 total goals.

Moreover, only 40% selected New York (+1.5) on the puck-line market. Florida bounced back against New York in Game 4 on Tuesday night, winning 3-2 in overtime to tie the series at two games apiece.
