Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are a part of the NFC North Division of the NFL. Named to honor Minnesota's Scandinavian culture, the Vikings were founded in 1960 as an expansion team. The franchise has made four Super Bowl appearances despite not winning a championship. Of non-victorious Super Bowl teams, Minnesota has the highest regular season and combined winning percentages as well as the most conference championship appearances.

The most successful decade in Vikings' history might be the 1970s when the “Purple People Eaters” helped Minnesota win three conference championships and eight division championships. Notable Vikings players include Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, Cris Carter, Alan Page, Fran Tarkenton, and John Randle. The Vikings' recent seasons haven't been ideal. The team recorded two straight losing seasons in 2020 and 2021, firing head coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman in early 2022.
