That star status, however, isn't always a bed of roses; with great recognition, there's also <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/nba-fans-think-luka-doncic-is-skip-bayless-next-target-after-lebron-james-retires\/\">a great deal of scrutiny<\/a>. The forward's son,<a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/is-bronny-james-playing-too-much-basketball\/\"> Bronny James<\/a>, is already learning that reality firsthand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In one of Bronny's recent games, the teenager was targeted by a young spectator, who threw debris at the teenager. LeBron, of course, was quick to come to his son's defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bronny James' rise to stardom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bronny James BEST 9th Grade Dunks! You Wont BELIEVE How Much Bronnys BOUNCE IMPROVED From 2018 to 19\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7s7ieJnw6NU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bronny only turned 15 in October, but he already has built up quite the basketball resume. <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/lebron-james-and-his-2-sons-all-share-this-good-habit\/\">As LeBron's son<\/a>, the teenager has recently burst into the national spotlight; he's been widely discussed in basketball circles, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WrRDzyORG5s\">since at least 2014<\/a> and has been winning AAU titles for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More recently, though, most of the chatter has been centered on Bronny's future. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PaulBiancardi\">Paul Biancardi,<\/a> ESPN\u2019s National Recruiting Director and NBA Draft analyst, tweeted that the teen <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/is-bronny-james-already-a-better-shooter-than-lebron\/\">might have a better jumper<\/a> than his dad did in high school; Magic Johnson also weighed in, telling <em>TMZ Sports<\/em> that <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/1-lakers-legend-believes-that-bronny-james-can-be-a-better-player-than-lebron\/\">Bronny has a chance to eclipse the senior James<\/a>. As of now, Bronny <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/this-is-the-only-college-to-offer-bronny-james-a-scholarship-so-far\/\">already has at least one scholarship offer<\/a> on the table, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkbasket.net\/63403-bronny-james-15-has-an-offer-from-kentucky-4-more-colleges-interested\">and several other schools are interested<\/a> in his talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James currently takes the court for the Sierra Canyon School, playing alongside Zaire Wade, son of LeBron\u2019s former teammate Dwyane, and two other five-star recruits. Their team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/bronny-james-zaire-wade-on-espn-15-times-this-season-2019-11\">is appearing on ESPN<\/a> 15 times this season and has been playing in front of thousands of fans at national tournaments, but Bronny doesn\u2019t need any more exposure. With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bronny\/?hl=en\">3 million Instagram followers<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/why-scientists-say-lebron-james-basketball-sneakers-are-the-best-on-the-market\/\">pretty famous father<\/a>, he\u2019s already on his way to stardom. As we proceed \ud83d\udc51 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6OzvGTxDEW\">https:\/\/t.co\/6OzvGTxDEW<\/a><\/p>&mdash; LeBron James (@KingJames) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KingJames\/status\/1219398135698554882?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 20, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday night, Bronny James and Sierra Canyon School were in action at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.com\/sports\/high-school-sports\/2020\/01\/20\/lebron-bronny-james-hoophall-classic-springfield\">the Hoophall Classic.<\/a> The on-court action, however, was interrupted when a spectator threw something at Bronny as he was inbounding the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unsurprisingly, LeBron quickly came to his son's defense. He retweeted a clip of the incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KingJames\/status\/1219398135698554882?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1219398135698554882&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fnba%2Fstory%2F_%2Fid%2F28526071%2Flebron-james-disappointed-disrespectful-move-fan-throws-debris-bronny-james-defeat\">adding the comment,<\/a> &#8220;Hating has no age limit! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/JamesGang?src=hash\">#JamesGang<\/a> is build for it and well equipped. As we proceed.&#8221; After Monday's Lakers game, James revisited the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I didn't see it or hear it, actually. While I was on the opposite side of the floor, I did see the referee stop the game or stop the inbound, and the cop came up there,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/28526071\/lebron-james-disappointed-disrespectful-move-fan-throws-debris-bronny-james-defeat\">LeBron explained<\/a>. &#8220;I didn't even know what happened until the video evidence showed me when I got here.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It's just disrespectful, and it was a little kid too. While stardom is all well and good, it, unfortunately, comes with a great deal of scrutiny and, in many cases, abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/lebron-james-and-his-2-sons-all-share-this-good-habit\/\">Bronny has two advantages<\/a>. Not only has he learned from his dad's experiences, but he naturally has some extra composure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;He's cool, calm. He's better than his mom and dad. Let's just say that,&#8221; LeBron explained. &#8220;He is\u2014he's better than his mom and dad for some of the things he lets off his shoulder. I guess he's taken some from me too, because I let a lot of s&#8212; go too.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;He's a great kid,&#8221; James continued. Most importantly, he loves being around his teammates, being a great kid, being a model citizen in the community, and playing the game he loves to play. And being a big brother to his brother and sister. But that s&#8212; earlier made me mad when I saw that. It was just disrespectful.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It goes without saying that no athlete should be harassed or abused due to their star status.
