Thompson certainly was on fire, scoring 60 points in a 142-106 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Imagine if this had been a close game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As impressive as the 60 points were, Thompson did all that scoring while <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomhaberstroh\/status\/806148842563452928\">dribbling the ball just 11 times<\/a>. Although Thompson managed the 60 points, he was on pace for a much bigger game, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr took him out at the end of the third quarter because the game was out of hand. He played just 29 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Klay Thompson explodes for 40 points in the\u00a0 first half<br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Klay Thompson Scores 60 Points (8 Threes) On 11 Dribbles In Just 29 Minutes \u2014 Highlights [12\/05\/16]\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/okLnXZhHPPc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Klay Thompson got off to a quick start in the game, pouring in 40 points by halftime, as the\u00a0Warriors took an 80-50 lead into the locker room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a 17-point first quarter that saw him go <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/boxscores\/201612050GSW.html\">8-for-12 from the floor<\/a>, Thompson went 7-for-10 (4-for-7 from 3-point land) and went 5-for-5 from the foul line to finish with 23 second-half points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thompson continued his torrid shooting in the second half, putting up 20 more points in the third quarter on 6-for-11 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range. He made five of six free throws. He never saw the floor in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><br>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/article\/2017\/12\/04\/week-history-klay-thompson-60-points-vs-indiana-pacers-2016\">I felt great, obviously<\/a>. It was fun. I was in a great rhythm. I took all good shots, for the most part. Still missed a few wide open threes I wish I could get back. The fact that Klay Thompson was able to put up 60 points while only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbnation.com\/2016\/12\/6\/13854272\/klay-thompson-highlights-stats-scoring-60-points\">touching the ball for 90 seconds<\/a> is mind-boggling. His scoring pace was<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESPNNBA\/status\/806012781455548416\"> just shy of Wilt Chamberlain<\/a> when the big man scored 100 points in a game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's pretty clear that Thompson isn't a big fan of putting the ball on the floor. This wasn't the only game Thompson had mind-blowing statistics when it came to points per dribble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a game against the New York Knicks in January of 2019, Thompson racked up 43 points and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NBATV\/status\/1082885393966686210\">dribbled just four times<\/a> in the entire game. Initially, he <a href=\"http:\/\/sportingnews.com\/us\/nba\/news\/klay-thompson-injury-timeline-return-date-updates-warriors\/1q6x62sgmnrw81dc8d380dojb1\">thought the injury was a sprain.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><br>&#8220;I knew I did something. But I've never had the severity of an ACL injury or an injury that bad. So me, personally, I didn't think it was that bad, initially. My adrenaline was so high being Game 6, whatever.
