For years &#8220;The Big Ticket&#8221; was unstoppable, but a trade to the Boston Celtics helped <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/kevin-garnett\/\">cement his legacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He recently discussed a possible trade that would've turned the league upside down. He won the NBA MVP award in 2004 after posting 24 points and almost 14 rebounds per game, which led the league. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This would be the first of four consecutive seasons Garnett would lead the league in rebounding. He also earned 10 All-Star appearances in 12 seasons with the team. For years, Kobe had proven to be a clutch performer and champion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No one matched KG's competitive spirit <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/kobe-bryant-headlines-an-elite-2020-hall-of-fame-class\/\">more than the Black Mamba<\/a>. However, when Garnett tried to reach out, Bryant didn't answer the call. Teaming him up with Kobe, who was coming up a 31 points per game average the season prior, would have made the team almost unstoppable. Kobe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bryanko01.html\">averaged 28 PPG<\/a> in 2007-08 on his way to earning the MVP award while leading the team to the No. 1 seed in the West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We think it would have been another excellent year for Bryant, who could have put up his third consecutive 30+ PPG season while teams also had to focus on Garnett. The Lakers were 19th in points allowed that year, while Boston finished second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have no doubt that the Lakers would have been in the top-10 if Garnett was manning the middle, and the Lakers would have won the championship. This could have started another dynasty out West, but could the Pau Gasol trade happen if KG is on the team?\u00a0The answer is probably not due to salary cap reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Both teams were still successful<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kevin Garnett&#039;s Top 50 Plays of His Career\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0mhUlZl3tyU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, the Celtics still hung up a championship banner with their big three of KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen.
