Simpson, who moved into the top five in the world ranking with the victory, finished at 22-under, a tournament record, besting Abraham Ancer by one stroke and Daniel Berger and Tyrrell Hatton by two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was Simpson's second win in his last four starts. He'll look to make it three out of five when he tees it up this week at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, as part of yet another stacked field, a field that will once again not include 82-time PGA Tour winner <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tiger-woods-has-made-more-in-pga-tour-earnings-than-any-player-in-history-and-its-not-even-close\/\">Tiger Woods<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, the Travelers Championship field will also not include Cameron Champ, who on Tuesday became the second PGA Tour to test positive for COVID-19, joining <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/nick-watney-and-his-famous-cousin-heidi-swapped-their-childhood-destinies\/\">Nick Watney<\/a>, who found out he had tested positive ahead of his second round at the RBC Heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cameron Champ withdrew from the Travelers Championship on Tuesday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Cameron Champ has withdrawn from the Travelers Championship after testing positive for COVID-19 during pre-tournament screening on Tuesday.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NFi0K13oqi\">https:\/\/t.co\/NFi0K13oqi<\/a><\/p>&mdash; PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PGATOUR\/status\/1275537537520603142?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 23, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/former-world-no-1-luke-donald-once-dropped-to-919th-in-the-rankings-but-is-fighting-his-way-back\/\">Former World No. 1 Luke Donald Once Dropped to 919th in the Rankings But is Fighting His Way Back<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four days after Nick Watney became the first player to test positive for COVID-19, the PGA Tour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/news\/2020\/06\/23\/pga-tour-statement-cameron-champ-withdraw-coronavirus-covid-19-positive-test-travelers-championship.html\">announced on Tuesday<\/a> that Cameron Champ had become the second player to contract the coronavirus, which was discovered during pre-tournament screening. Only eighth-ranked Adam Scott, who has yet to return to the PGA Tour as he's choosing to remain in Australia until at least July, will not tee it up at TPC River Highlands. Eight of the current top 10 have played in both events since the restart of the season. Scott obviously hasn't played yet and ninth-ranked Patrick Cantlay is making his first start since play resumed at the Charles Schwab Challenge two weeks ago.
