Twenty-two teams were brought to Disney World to play a shortened conclusion to the regular season and determine the 16 playoff squads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slowly but steadily, teams were eliminated and sent home. The last two to go, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/the-boston-celtics-have-put-together-an-impressive-stat-during-their-playoff-runs\/\">Boston Celtics<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/the-denver-nuggets-have-a-gem-on-their-team-in-michael-porter-jr\/\">Denver Nuggets<\/a>, had spent about 10 weeks in the NBA bubble. The Los Angeles Lakers, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/lebron-james\/\">LeBron James<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/anthony-davis-scored-a-groundbreaking-endorsement-deal-shortly-after-joining-the-lakers\/\">Anthony Davis<\/a>, and Miami Heat will be the last to leave this week after roughly 12 weeks away from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lost in the excitement over the return of the NBA at a time when little was allowed to happen in the sports world is that plenty of others besides the members of the two finalists have been stuck in the bubble for most or all of the resumed season. Off days have been the worst because there\u2019s relatively little to do in one of the country\u2019s most popular tourist attractions when leaving the bubble isn\u2019t permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a basket case,\u2019\u2019 Van Gundy said. \u201cYes, we are fortunate to have a job and fortunate to be healthy, but there\u2019s a repetitiveness to the days. \u2026 Your mind starts wandering and you begin concentrating on how much you miss the normalcy of your everyday life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, he has missed considerable time with his wife and two daughters. The one plus along the lines of family considerations has been the time he has spent with his brother. <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tnts-stan-van-gundy-throws-cold-water-on-chris-broussards-hot-take\/\">Stan Van Gundy<\/a>, another former NBA coach, has also been working as a color commentator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cIt was great being able to spend time with Stan. He was 248-172 with the New York Knicks from 1995-2002 and 182-146 with the Houston Rockets from 2003-07. Van Gundy has been working on TV since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mike D\u2019Antoni\u2019s decision to leave the team has made the <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/the-houston-rockets-are-reportedly-targeting-a-veteran-to-replace-mike-dantoni-but-will-james-harden-be-around-for-the-new-hire\/\">Houston Rockets<\/a> vacancy attractive to coaching hopefuls.
