The two have gone back and forth all season long, and of course, they both find themselves in the hunt heading into the Championship 4 at Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a string of events that culminated in a fiery controversy last Sunday at Martinsville, racing fans need to keep an eye on <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/joey-loganos-dad-forged-his-birth-certificate-so-he-could-race-at-a-higher-level\/\">Logano<\/a> and Elliott when they gear up for the Season Finale 500 this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Joey Logano and Chase Elliott have a shaky history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Joey Logano and Chase Elliott break down what happened in the final laps | NASCAR ON FOX\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HNU2aWL5TqA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/do-nascar-drivers-pee-in-their-suits-dale-earnhardt-jr-admits-when-you-gotta-go-you-gotta-go\/\">Do NASCAR Drivers Pee in Their Suits? Down the stretch of the NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Logano and Elliott crashed out of contention, causing them to fall back and finish 21st and 22nd, respectively, in the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the race, Logano didn't mince words about his thoughts on the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe wrecked me,\u201d Logano said. \u201cHe got loose underneath me. The part that\u2019s frustrating is that afterward a simple apology \u2014 like be a man and come up to someone and say, \u2018Hey, my bad.\u2019 But I had to force an apology, which, to me, is childish. Anyways, man, we had a good recovery with our Autotrader Mustang and had a shot to win. That\u2019s all you can hope for. I passed him clean. It\u2019s hard racing at the end, I get that. It\u2019s hard racing, but, golly, man, be a man and take the hit when you\u2019re done with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two bumped heads again in September after Logano blocked off Elliott out of a restart during the South Point 400 in Las Vegas. Logano got dangerously close to Elliott and rubbed tires with his No. 9 car during Stage 1 of the playoff race, and Elliott's team wasn't happy about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a f***ing hack,\u201d Elliott's crew chief Alan Gustafson said. You can also make out a call to &#8220;wreck him here and next week.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elliott went on to win the race to secure his spot in the playoff finale this Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.
