While he's no longer a full-time NASCAR driver, he's used <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/motorsports\/\">motorsports<\/a> to become both rich and famous. He has a wife and children, does plenty of media work, and, on the whole, seems like a success. A zombie apocalypse, however, could change all of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there's no imminent threat of a zombie apocalypse &#8212; at least as far as we know &#8212; Dale Earnhardt Jr. still has a plan just in case of an emergency. Climbing behind the wheel of a stock car, however, wasn't always on the cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-wanted-to-play-football-growing-up-but-was-shut-down-by-a-school-administrator-for-a-relatable-reason\/?amp\">Junior wanted to play football <\/a>in high school and, after earning an automotive degree, took a job at his dad's car dealership. <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-once-got-fired-from-his-dads-car-dealership\/\">That gig ended<\/a> after a new service manager took over, though, and Earnhardt Jr. eventually found his way into the driver's seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While he initially started racing to <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-confessed-that-the-only-reason-he-raced-was-to-have-a-relationship-wih-his-father\/\">form a relationship with his father,<\/a> Dale Jr. also proved to be quite the talent. He joined the Busch Series in 1996 and, two years later, had graduated to <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/what-is-the-nascar-cup-series\/\">the Cup Series.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite some major bumps in the road &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardts-gruesome-death-and-how-it-changed-nascar-forever\/\">losing your father<\/a> in any circumstances, let alone during a race, is never easy, and <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-kept-a-stash-of-secret-notes-on-his-phone-in-case-the-unthinkable-happened\/\">concussion issues <\/a>can derail even the toughest competitor &#8212; Earnhardt Jr. still put together quite a racing career. Fame and fortune, however, can only do so much in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Junior knows exactly what he would do in that scenario, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2015, Earnhardt Jr. fielded plenty of questions from his fans on Twitter. Topics ranged from hunting to his father and everything in between. At one point, the conversation even turned to zombies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When someone asked Junior what he'd do to survive a zombie apocalypse, the NASCAR star had an answer ready to go. &#8220;I'd drive to Key West, TnT the 7-mile bridge,&#8221; he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DaleJr\/status\/579837815212662784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E579837815212662784%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2Fnews%2Fearly-lead%2Fwp%2F2015%2F03%2F23%2Fdale-earnhardt-jr-talks-zombie-apocalypse-bourbon-beer-during-twitter-qa%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweeted.<\/a> &#8220;And party.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are some logistical concerns &#8212; what happens when you run out of supplies, for example &#8212; there is some logic to Earnhardt's plan. If you're on an island and the bridge is out, you probably won't be under threat from zombies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-if-anyone-can-pull-off-that-plan-it-s-theoretically-dale-earnhardt-jr\">If anyone can pull off that plan, it's theoretically Dale Earnhardt Jr.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dale Jr. Download: I Was So Drunk Once That I...\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N7J2RA6bb5s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If we're actually dealing with a zombie apocalypse, it's safe to assume that plenty of survival plans will go out the window. <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-takes-his-sandwiches-almost-as-seriously-as-his-racing-when-you-build-a-sandwich-its-like-building-a-model\/\">Dale Earnhardt Jr.<\/a>, however, seems pretty well-equipped to pull his off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to his NASCAR success over the years, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/who-is-the-richest-nascar-driver-of-all-time-and-what-is-their-net-worth\/\">Junior has built up a massive net worth<\/a>. It's generally estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 million. While that money will be pretty useless once society crumbles,  it can help secure plenty of logistical advantages ahead of time. TNT, for example, probably doesn't come cheap. Similarly, Junior could stock up on food, water, and other party supplies without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, in regard to the partying part of the equation, Earnhardt Jr. should be able to take care of business. During his younger days, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dale-earnhardt-jr-admitted-that-he-failed-to-make-the-most-of-his-nascar-talent-i-did-about-80\/\">driver had no problem having fun<\/a>. He admitted that he might not have reached his full racing potential before joining Hendrick Motorsports and buckling down.
