During his time in the association, His Airness <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordan-competitive-streak-goes-far-beyond-the-basketball-court\/\">wasn't only a fearless competitor<\/a>. He was a force of nature, unafraid to trash-talk anyone who stood in his way. That reality, it seems, didn't change in retirement. Just ask <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/president-barack-obama-reveals-who-he-thinks-is-the-nba-goat-michael-jordan-or-lebron-james\/\">Barack Obama<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014, Michael Jordan told the world that, in his opinion, Barack Obama was a pretty bad golfer. The POTUS, however, couldn't <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordan-is-so-competitive-that-he-once-tried-to-trash-talk-kobe-bryant-during-a-friendly-dinner\/\">ignore that remark<\/a>, though, and promptly threw a little shade back at MJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-michael-jordan-was-willing-to-trash-talk-anyone-to-win\">Michael Jordan was willing to trash-talk anyone to win <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Michael Jordan &#039;is a defectively competitive human being&#039; - Max Kellerman | First Take\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lEQ4slfH2sk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When we're talking about Michael Jordan, it goes without saying that he was an incredible athlete. His Airness, however, also had two other tools in his locker: an incredible will to win and a knack for brutal trash talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to childhood\u00a0battles with his brother Larry,\u00a0MJ developed a fierce competitive edge. While things could have gone south when he\u00a0failed to make <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/was-michael-jordan-really-cut-from-his-high-school-basketball-team\/\">his high school\u2019s varsity basketball team,<\/a>\u00a0the teenager doubled down. Jordan dominated the JV competition, made varsity the next season, and became a McDonald\u2019s All-American by the time he graduated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, Jordan only became better and better.\u00a0During his time at the University of North Carolina,\u00a0His Airness hit the game-winning shot to seal an NCAA title as a freshman. In the NBA,\u00a0he <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/ranking-the-6-nba-titles-of-michael-jordan-and-the-chicago-bulls\/\">won six championships<\/a>,\u00a0five MVP awards, and virtually every honor imaginable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MJ didn't just dominate the competition on the court, though. He also proved to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordans-brutal-trash-talk-once-ruined-a-teammates-career\/\">ruthless trash-talker,<\/a> willing to attack everyone from opponents to his own teammates if it helped him gain an advantage. On one occasion, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordan-talked-trash-to-everyone-even-bill-clinton\/\">Bill Clinton even felt Jordan's wrath<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-his-airness-once-criticized-barack-obama-s-golf-skills\">His Airness once criticized Barack Obama's golf skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bill Clinton wasn't the only U.S. president to be trash-talked by <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordan-may-have-used-a-48-holes-of-golf-and-a-20000-gift-to-gain-a-competitive-edge-over-charles-barkley-during-the-1993-nba-finals\/\">Michael Jordan<\/a>, though. In 2014, the NBA legend also called out Barack Obama for his skills on the golf course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As documented by <a href=\"https:\/\/ftw.usatoday.com\/2014\/10\/michael-jordan-barack-obama-golfer-ahmad-rashad-handicap-score\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For The Win,<\/a> Ahmad Rashad asked Jordan to assemble a dream golfing foursome. His first pick was Arnold Palmer. MJ then nominated Obama, which led to some discussion about his skills on the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI never played with Obama, but I would. But no, that\u2019s OK, I take him out. He\u2019s a hack. It\u2019d be all day playing with him,&#8221; Jordan said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rashad then asked MJ if he really wanted to go on the record, saying that Barack Obama was a hack. &#8220;Don\u2019t worry about it,&#8221; Jordan responded. &#8220;I never said he wasn\u2019t a great politician. I just said he was a [expletive] golfer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, you read that correctly. Based on that background, he couldn't resist giving Michael Jordan a taste of his own medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As documented by another <a href=\"https:\/\/ftw.usatoday.com\/2014\/11\/barack-obama-golf-michael-jordan-zing-response-charlotte-hornets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For The Win<\/a> post, Obama was asked about Jordan's comments during a 2014 radio interview. In addition to saying that Jordan &#8220;wasn\u2019t very well informed,&#8221; the POTUS also threw a little trash talk back at His Airness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut there is no doubt that Michael is a better golfer than I am,&#8221; Obama continued. &#8220;Of course, if I was playing twice a day for the last 15 years, then that might not be the case.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since those comments were made, though, Michael Jordan and Barack Obama have hit the links together.
