The late <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/Kobe-Bryant\/\">Kobe Bryant<\/a>, however, had a pretty relatable pet peeve: &#8220;Dog s&#8212;&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Long before <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/michael-jordan-is-so-competitive-that-he-once-tried-to-trash-talk-kobe-bryant-during-a-friendly-dinner\/\">he found fame and fortune<\/a> as a LA Lakers star, Kobe Bryant had a gross experience in Italy. While he might not have been as outwardly aggressive as MJ, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/kobe-bryant-still-making-an-impact-this-time-in-the-nfl\/\">Kobe Bryant also took his craft seriously<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After adopting his Black Mamba persona, Bryant created his famous &#8216;Mamba Mentality.' While his on-court accomplishments are still incredibly impressive, that approach to the game has, to some extent, become Kobe's legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mamba Mentality was more than a clever social media slogan, though. He was willing to put in the work behind the scenes. In reality, though, he picked something much more relatable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I hate dog s&#8212;,&#8221; Kobe told <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/blog\/playbook\/fandom\/post\/_\/id\/17075\/kobe-bryant-talks-mj-lebron-django\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ESPN<\/a>&#8216;s Chris Palmer in 2013. I won\u2019t go near it. So pissed when I step in it. I\u2019ve got four dogs, and I just don\u2019t do dog doo. I\u2019m a diva when it comes to that.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What prompted that passionate hate? As most of us have experienced, Bryant once had the misfortune of soiling a new pair of shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Back in the day when I was in Italy, I used to order shoes from Nike all the time. I had to have all the fresh joints. I ordered the Elephant Print Jordans that were amazing. I went to the park to play and stepped in a huge pile of dog s&#8212;. You wouldn\u2019t believe how mad I was. I was breaking off sticks to try to get it out of the crevices. I smacked them together and scraped the soles on the curb but couldn\u2019t get it all out. Eventually, though, scoring sneakers became less of a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to his star status, Bryant turned into a financial powerhouse. According to <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spotrac.com\/nba\/los-angeles-lakers\/kobe-bryant-2514\/cash-earnings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spotrac<\/a>&#8216;s contract data, he earned a grand total of $323 million during his 20-year NBA career. That reality, combined with his endorsement deals and off-court ventures, helped the guard build up <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/kobe-bryant-has-made-an-unbelievable-amount-of-money-since-his-tragic-death\/\">a $600 million net worth<\/a> by the time of his tragic death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between that fortune and his deal with Nike, Kobe Bryant could have scored as many pairs of sneakers as his heart desired.
