He was <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tony-romo-statistically-better-troy-aikman-wasnt-hall-of-fame-finalist-awe-all-know-why\/\">not only a successful NFL quarterback<\/a>, but he was on America's Team &#8212; also known as the most popular team in the NFL &#8212; the Dallas Cowboys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since he was such a notable celebrity, one would think dating wouldn't be too difficult for him. However, Tony Romo had to trick his future wife, Candice Crawford, into going out with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tony-romo-was-a-star-nfl-quarterback-for-the-dallas-cowboys\">Tony Romo was a star NFL quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tony-romo-net-worth-quarterback-turned-sportscaster-worth-today\/\">Tony Romo began his NFL career<\/a> as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and ultimately signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He did not throw a single pass in his first three NFL seasons. In 2006, though, Romo then became a star. In addition to earning four career <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/what-is-the-difference-between-being-an-nfl-all-pro-and-pro-bowler\/\">Pro Bowl selections<\/a>, he threw for 3,700 yards or more six times in eight seasons from 2007 through 2014. Romo also threw for as many as 4,903 yards in 2012, and 36 TDs in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For his career, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/dallas-cowboys-fans-understand-jaylon-smith-wearing-jersey-number-pair-super-bowl-mvps-before-took-tony-romos-no-9-right\/\">No. 9 ultimately recorded<\/a> 34,183 passing yards, 248 touchdowns, and 117 interceptions. Despite not having much postseason success with the Cowboys, Romo still proved to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in team history during his career. Worth area when she and Romo first met. Great.\u2019 Sure enough, I show up 6:55 or something like that. She gets out, I\u2019m like, \u2018Ah, everyone dropped out. It\u2019s just me and you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romo then said that Candice told him she probably would have still gone had she known it was just going to be them two. But the thought of them going in a group made her feel more comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That, however, wasn\u2019t all that happened on their first date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Candice not realizing that Romo was coming over to pick her up, she ended up having her parents hide from him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy parents, being massive Cowboys fans, she didn\u2019t want them in the house. And they're like, \u2018Candice, we\u2019re already here. What do you want us to do?\u2019 And she was like, \u2018Hide. Their wedding reception was even Cowboys-themed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romo eventually went on to play for the Cowboys for six more seasons. He is now a <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tony-romo-cbs-had-intervention-for-undisciplined-broadcaster\/\">very successful NFL broadcaster on CBS<\/a> with a contract extending through 2030. As for their relationship, Candice and Romo are still together and have three sons, Hawkins, Rivers, and Jones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tony Romo is a Dallas Cowboys legend and now has a beautiful family.
