While <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/hockey\/\">hockey<\/a> players dream of lifting the iconic trophy once, he\u2019s won the past three consecutive championships. When the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Colorado Avalanche, he\u2019ll be gunning for ring number four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although that silverware is motivation enough, the forward could have a bit of extra motivation up his sleeve: beating <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/la-rams-owner-stan-kroenke-turned-down-2-55-billion\/\">Stan Kroenke<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During an appearance on <em>The Pat McAfee Show<\/em>, Maroon, who hails from St. Louis and formerly played for the Blues, admitted that he hates the Avalanche owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-patrick-maroon-hasn-t-forgotten-how-stan-kroenke-moved-the-st-louis-rams\">Patrick Maroon hasn\u2019t forgotten how Stan Kroenke moved the St. Louis Rams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;I hate Stan Kroenke.. If we take him at his word, Patrick Maroon is one of those critics.<\/p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">\u201cI hate Stan Kroenke,\u201d the Lightning forward told Pat McAfee. \u201cI can\u2019t stand that guy. Honestly, he took\u2026Honestly, you guys played at The Dome, The Dome\u2019s a s****y, s****y, it\u2019s, it was a bad, bad arena. I\u2019m sure it was terrible for you guys to go in there and play, but the Greatest Game on Turf with Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, I mean, Orlando Pace, I mean you can go down the, I mean just to watch that, I think Mike Jones made that huge tackle against Tennessee. But to like have that taken away from us, it just sucks. \u2026 The fans are true passionate in St. Louis, and I just can\u2019t stand that guy for taking them out of there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">While it\u2019s a bit surprising to hear an NHL player directly voicing those sentiments, they\u2019re not exactly unexpected. As mentioned above, Maroon grew up in St. Louis before returning home to play for the Blues. His feelings toward Kroenke are certainly not unusual. A <\/span><a style=\"font-size: revert; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/early-lead\/wp\/2016\/01\/14\/who-is-rams-owner-stan-kroenke-besides-the-most-hated-man-in-st-louis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington Post<\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\"> story from 2016, for example, called him the \u201cmost hated man\u201d in the city. If that was before the Rams won a Super Bowl in their sparkling new stadium, you can imagine the current sentiment.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Even with Maroon\u2019s (potential) extra motivation, the Tampa Bay Lightning will face a tough test against the Colorado Avalanche\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Previewing the 2022 Stanley Cup Final\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cwHD8dZpbMo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> <p>Like it or not, hate is certainly a powerful emotion. Even if that adds a bit of extra wind to Maroon\u2019s sails, though, it won\u2019t be easy for Tampa to overcome Colorado and win another Stanley Cup.<\/p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">While postseason hockey has traditionally been a place where teams reliant on speed and skill suffer, the Avalanche haven\u2019t missed a beat. The club finished the regular season averaging 3.8 goals per game; during the playoffs, that number has risen to an incredible 4.6 goals per outing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">Nathan McKinnon has led the way with 11 goals, but Colorado isn\u2019t a one-man show. Cale Makar has contributed 22 points from the back-end, while Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen are tied with 17 points apiece. Nazem Kadri probably won\u2019t be ready for Game 1, but if he returns to the lineup, he\u2019ll surely be a thorn in the Lightning\u2019s metaphorical side.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">Although facing Andrei Vasilevskiy will be a stiff test, it\u2019s safe to assume that Colorado will manage to score some goals. Tampa may have an opportunity to strike back against Darcy Kuemper \u2013 he might be a step slow after missing some time through injury \u2013 but the netminder has posted solid numbers this year. He might not have the same resume as his opposite number, but he probably won\u2019t be a pushover.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">Through that lens, it won\u2019t be easy for Patrick Maroon to get his revenge. In the NHL Playoffs, though, anything can happen.
