Every Sunday afternoon.\u201d That is the promise of NFL Sunday Ticket. The cost is $293.94 per season, which many <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/nfl\/\">NFL<\/a> fans are willing to pay. However, unless you are a college student or live in a building that doesn\u2019t allow satellite dishes, the cost fans are often unwilling to pay is having the DirecTV hardware bolted to your home. According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/roger-goodell-slams-peyton-manning-sitting-late-season-we-wanna-see-guys-play-we-wanna-see-teams-compete\/\">NFL commissioner Roger Goodell<\/a>, though, that\u2019s about to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nfl-sunday-ticket-streaming-service\"><strong>NFL Sunday Ticket streaming service<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The NFL will end our long national nightmare and choose a new Sunday Ticket provider by the fall, Commissioner Roger Goodell says in an exclusive CNBC interview with my colleague <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JBoorstin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JBoorstin<\/a> from Sun Valley:<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/b0ikvlAIzE\">https:\/\/t.co\/b0ikvlAIzE<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Alex Sherman (@sherman4949) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sherman4949\/status\/1545431319588601856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 8, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NFL Sunday Ticket brings NFL fans every out-of-market game during the 1:00 pm EST and 4:00 pm EST windows on football Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting in the mid-1990s, the NFL partnered with DirecTV to offer this service to fans. Subscribers get every game on Sunday afternoons that is not on their local CBS or FOX affiliate. Also, the package has its own\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/who-owns-the-nfl-redzone-and-the-red-zone-channel\/\">RedZone channel<\/a>\u00a0hosted by Andrew Siciliano as opposed to\u00a0Scott Hanson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As live streaming became more popular, DirecTV began to offer that option as part of the package. However, streaming is not currently a standalone option unless you live in a place where satellites aren\u2019t allowed or are actively enrolled as a full-time college student.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These restrictions limit the reach of the package, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell plans to do something about it when the exclusive partnership with DirecTV expires at the end of the 2022 NFL season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI clearly believe we\u2019ll be moving to a streaming service,\u201d Goodell told reporter Julia Boorstin in an interview with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/08\/nfl-will-select-new-sunday-ticket-partner-by-fall-commissioner-roger-goodell-says.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CNBC<\/a>. \u201cI think that\u2019s best for consumers at this stage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That begs the question, which streaming service will get NFL Sunday Ticket in 2023?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which streaming service will have NFL Sunday Ticket? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1250\" height=\"833\" src=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/NFL-Sunday-Ticket.jpg?w=925&#038;strip=all&#038;quality=89\" alt=\"NFL Sunday Ticket at the Super Bowl LIII Experience on January 29, 2019. NFL Sunday Ticket is heading to a streaming service soon\" class=\"wp-image-1519243\" \/><figcaption>NFL Sunday Ticket at the Super Bowl LIII Experience | Rich Graessle\/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>DirecTV currently pays $1.5 billion annually for the exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket. With the proliferation of streaming services in the last few years, that price has increased significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roger Goodell and the NFL believe that whichever streamer gets the package will pay north of $2 billion per season, and if a bidding war breaks out, the figure could double from the last deal and get to around $3 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for which streaming platform will get the NFL Sunday Ticket for its next iteration, CNBC reports that Apple, Amazon, and Disney (the parent company of ESPN) \u201chave all submitted bids to be the league\u2019s exclusive Sunday Ticket distributor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These companies have all already ponied up big bucks for live sporting rights. Amazon is already paying the NFL $1 billion per year to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/\u2018Good%20Morning%20Football\u2019%20Host%20Kay%20Adams%20Abruptly%20Announces%20She\u2019s%20Leaving%20Show,%20Is%20Amazon%20Next%253F\">stream\u00a0<em>Thursday Night Football<\/em><\/a>\u00a0starting this season, and Disney\/ESPN are in for around $2.7 billion for\u00a0<em>Monday Night Football<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apple hasn\u2019t landed any NFL rights yet, but the company did just shell out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/mls-lands-blockbuster-2-5-billion-deal-with-apple-tv\/\">$2.5 billion for the exclusive rights to MLS<\/a>\u00a0for the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s too early to tell which streamer will win the rights, but NFL fans will certainly have a much easier time getting the Sunday Ticket package starting in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Like <\/em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sports7\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Sports7<\/em><\/a><em> on Facebook.
