Rory McIlroy hasn't won a major championship since 2014, but the oddsmakers have pegged him as the man to beat at St. Andrews this weekend. The Northern Irishman currently stands as the sole betting favorite to win the 2022 Open Championship at 10/1 odds.

It's hard to argue with the decision. McIlroy has been playing brilliant golf for three months now, and it seems the feud between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour has motivated him to impose his will every time he tees it up. Since The Masters in April, McIlroy has recorded a win and five top-10s in his last seven starts. He's finished no worse than 19th over that span.

The No. 2 ranked player in the world has gained strokes off the tee and on approach in seven straight starts, and he's having the best putting season of his professional career. McIlroy is more than a deserving favorite in his 14th Open Championship start.
