This weekend, the very best in the world will congregate at the birthplace of golf \u2014 the Old Course at St. Andrews \u2014 for the 150th Open Championship, and the top of the odds board is littered with big names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Xander Schauffele enters the year's fourth and final major championship as the hottest player in the field with wins in two straight starts, but he isn't the betting favorite at St. Andrews. The Northern Irishman currently stands as the sole betting favorite to win the 2022 Open Championship at 10\/1 odds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's hard to argue with the decision. McIlroy has been playing brilliant golf for three months now, and it seems the <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/rory-mcilroy-harsh-warning-liv-golf-defectors\/\">feud between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour<\/a> has motivated him to impose his will every time he tees it up. Since The Masters in April, McIlroy has recorded a win and five top-10s in his last seven starts. He's finished no worse than 19th over that span. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No. 2 ranked player in the world has gained strokes off the tee and on approach in seven straight starts, and he's having the best putting season of his professional career.
