We\u2019re also just days away from the Martinsville race setting the field for the <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/nascar\/\">NASCAR Cup Series<\/a> Championship 4. So, naturally, let\u2019s talk about the connection between <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/kevin-harvick\/\">Kevin Harvick<\/a> and Taylor Swift instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-world-stands-still-when-taylor-swift-drops-a-new-album\"><strong>The world stands still when Taylor Swift drops a new album<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"901\" src=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Kevin-Harvick.jpg?w=925&#038;strip=all&#038;quality=89\" alt=\"NASCAR Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick and entertainer Taylor Swift. | Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-1535409\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">NASCAR Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick and entertainer Taylor Swift. | Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone who\u2019s ever browsed the tabloids rack in a supermarket knows Taylor Swift cannot put out new music without referencing the relationships in her life. She\u2019s reached clich\u00e9 status with such, but Swift earns a pass from her record label and fans as one of the most successful performers of the century as we approach the quarter pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every release of new tunes is big news, not to mention big money. Swift released <em>Midnights<\/em>, her 10<sup>th<\/sup> studio album, on Oct. 21, and the impact was immediate. Spotify\u2019s servers couldn\u2019t keep up with the traffic in times in the initial 48 hours. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/news\/2022\/10\/taylor-swifts-album-midnights-smashes-three-spotify-records-723058\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guinness World Records<\/a> people credit her with broken records \u2013 Are <em>broken <\/em>records something to be happy about when it comes to music, or are we far enough beyond the vinyl era? \u2013 for album streams (184.6 million) and artist streams (228 million) in 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, how does this relate to Kevin Harvick and NASCAR? Well, it\u2019s \u201ca thing\u201d to treat Swift\u2019s new albums as I-remember-what-I-was-doing-when-she-released-it moments. Nine of her 10 studio albums have rolled out during the NASCAR Cup Series season, and Jimmie Johnson is the only driver to have won the first race after two album releases. The NASCAR veteran owns the distinction of being the only driver to finish as the runner-up \u2013 i.e., the first loser \u2013 in more than one of the above races: Behind Edwards in 2008, Bowyer in \u201910, and Johnson in \u201914.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One other bit of trivia: Kyle Larson is the only driver to have finished first (last weekend at Homestead-Miami) and last (2017 at Phoenix) after Swift\u2019s album releases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>College football may have been ground zero for the \u2018Taylor Swift Phenomenon\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Purdue has never won a game directly after a Taylor Swift album release.
