Of course, as <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/jealous-jerry-jones-erroneously-claims-eagles-sold-future-super-bowl\/\">I pointed out earlier this week<\/a>, Jones is dead wrong about that assessment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It turns out I'm not the only one who disagrees with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jimmy Johnson, who won two Super Bowl titles with Jones and remains good friends with the owner today, also called him out for the jealous man he is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jerry-jones-ignorant-eagles-take-proves-he-has-no-idea-what-he-s-talking-about\">Jerry Jones' ignorant Eagles take proves he has no idea what he's talking about<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jerry Jones thinks the Eagles &quot;emptied the bucket&quot; when they have an extra first round pick next year, average cap space and were the 9th youngest team in NFL <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wp5K0ojpV8\">https:\/\/t.co\/wp5K0ojpV8<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Gregg Rosenthal (@greggrosenthal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greggrosenthal\/status\/1620982149594898433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 2, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eagles are off to their second Super Bowl appearance in five years and their third since 2004. Meanwhile the Cowboys haven't even reached the NFC Championship since 1995, and Jones is starting to feel a bit jealous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a vain effort to spin Dallas' drought as a long-term play, Jones claimed the Eagles are going all-in on one season while he's building toward the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Anybody who thinks I won\u2019t take a chance has misread the tea leaves. But I do think longer term,\u201d Jones said this week, per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com\/2023\/02\/02\/jerry-jones-says-eagles-bet-it-all-to-win-this-year-cowboys-think-longer-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pro Football Talk<\/a>. &#8220;And I\u2019m real hesitant to bet it all for a year. There\u2019s a lot of things that can happen for that year. In essence, we\u2019re seeing a couple of teams that have had some real success putting it all out there and paying for it later, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;That\u2019s pretty impressive to have two teams in the last two years empty the bucket and get to the Super Bowl,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut if you miss, it is a long go.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riiiiight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, who's going to tell Jones that the Eagles have more first-round draft picks in 2023, more cap space this offseason, and a younger, better quarterback (still on his rookie deal) than the Cowboys? They\u2019ve got extra picks down the road. They\u2019ve got some very talented players.
