In fact, it's only heating up with the rival tour kicking off its 2023 season this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in November, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/rory-mcilroy\/\">Rory McIlroy<\/a>, the self-appointed spokesperson for the PGA Tour, decided to bash Greg Norman and call for him to step down from his position as LIV Golf's CEO. It took Norman a few months to properly respond to McIlroy's criticism, but Norman fired back at the Northern Irishman this week by claiming he &#8220;doesn't know anything about LIV Golf&#8221; and warning him to &#8220;watch what you say.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah, this rivalry isn't going to end anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rory-mcilroy-wants-greg-norman-to-step-down-as-liv-golf-s-ceo\">Rory McIlroy wants Greg Norman to step down as LIV Golf's CEO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1250\" height=\"833\" src=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Greg-Norman-1.jpg?w=925&#038;strip=all&#038;quality=89\" alt=\"Greg Norman looks on during LIV Golf Mayakoba.\" class=\"wp-image-1551746\" \/><figcaption>Greg Norman looks on during day two of the LIV Golf Invitational - Mayakoba at El Camaleon at Mayakoba | Hector Vivas\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>McIlroy believes the PGA Tour and LIV Golf can co-exist at some point in the future, but he doesn't see that happening as long as Norman is in charge. The <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/2-liv-golf-players-2-pga-tour-players-lose-expected-spots-the-open-championship\/\">LIV Golf<\/a> CEO fractured the golf world as we know it by poaching some of the top players in the world with the promise of Saudi millions, so McIlroy believes the only way LIV and the PGA Tour will ever work together is if Norman steps aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think Greg needs to go. I think he just needs to exit stage left,&#8221; McIlroy\u00a0told reporters at the DP World Tour Championship in November, per <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/sports-business-golf-rory-mcilroy-greg-norman-4c213433d6ca9eacae98b873e7001d08\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AP<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s made his mark, but I think now is the right time to sort of say, &#8216;Look, you've got this thing off the ground, but no one is going to talk unless there's an adult in the room that can actually try to mend fences.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;But right now, it\u2019s a stalemate because there can\u2019t be any other way.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-greg-norman-responds-to-rory-mcilroy-with-a-threatening-message\">Greg Norman responds to Rory McIlroy with a threatening message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Greg Norman sends a message to Rory McIlroy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ljkpjdSYEy0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Norman has been trying to ignore the hate coming his way, especially the comments coming from PGA Tour players. That's why he wasn't quick to respond to McIlroy's criticism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahead of LIV Golf's first tournament of the 2023 season, though, Norman finally responded with a threatening message of his own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Rory doesn\u2019t know anything, right? All due respect to Rory, he doesn\u2019t know anything about LIV,&#8221; Norman said in an interview with Golf.com. &#8220;He knows something about the PGA Tour. I\u2019ve always been a fan of Rory McIlroy\u2019s. My advice to him is just sit back, take stock, watch what you say because in the end, there will be a situation where he\u2019ll be asked a few questions that he may not want to be answering.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Watch what you say&#8221; surely has an evil tone to it, huh?
