Former Philadelphia 76ers owner and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin couldn\u2019t help but troll a New York Knicks fan for betting against the Sixers in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFanatics Sportsbook crushed it yesterday thanks to all the Knicks fans betting against the Sixers\u2014it made me so happy!! I just wanted to say thank you to all the Knicks fans,\u201d Rubin, who runs Fanatics Sportsbook as well, wrote in a now-deleted post on X.<\/span><\/p>\n The response came after the 76ers rallied for a 112-106 overtime win in Game 5 on Tuesday night, improving their series deficit to 3-2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tyrese Maxey scored a playoff career-high 46 points to keep Philadelphia\u2019s season alive. <\/span>Joel Embiid<\/span> finished with 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n According to Erich Richter of the <\/span>New York Post<\/span><\/i>, a spokesperson for Fanatics Sportsbook revealed that 63.5% of the handle was on the Knicks (-3.5), with almost no one betting the underdog Sixers on the moneyline.<\/span><\/p>\n Approximately 92.1% of the handle was on the Knicks\u2019 moneyline, staying within the (-150) range. This should explain why Rubin was ecstatic when the Sixers starved off elimination on the road at Madison Square Garden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Gamblers were also betting against the 76ers all across the board with other sportsbooks.
