The New England Patriots waived the 6-foot-6, 318-pound guard on Monday.<\/p>\n<h2>Atlanta Falcons add Andrew Stueber a day after he was waived by the New England Patriots<\/h2>\n<p>Stueber, who turns 25 on July 1, was selected 245th overall by New England in the seventh round of the 2022 draft out of Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>He missed his rookie season with a torn hamstring and spent last season on the practice squad.<\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut native has yet to make his <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/nfl\/\">NFL<\/a> debut.<\/p>\n<p>As a graduate student with the Wolverines\u00a0in\u00a02021, he helped lead the offensive line with the fewest sacks allowed (10) and third-fewest tackles for loss (27) nationally.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">OL Andrew Stueber, who was recently waived by the Patriots, has been informed he has been claimed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Falcons?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Falcons<\/a>, per <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikeReiss?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MikeReiss<\/a>. Stueber spent the last two seasons with New England and was a seventh-round draft pick out of Michigan in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marc Raimondi (@marcraimondi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcraimondi\/status\/1798088453554323913?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 4, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Although Stueber never made a regular-season appearance with the Patriots, then-head coach Bill Belichick praised the second-team All-American prior to the 2023 season for making progress.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He\u2019s, like, 50 times further along than where he was last year,\u201d Belichick said. \u201cHe got hurt before we even got to rookie minicamp and basically missed the entire season, other than a few practices at the end of the year. He\u2019s had a full offseason. He\u2019s good to go. It\u2019s good to have him out here. He gets better every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Stueber made 20 career starts at right tackle and two at right guard at Michigan<\/h2>\n<p>Stueber started every game over his final two seasons with the Wolverines. He made 20 career starts at right tackle and two at right guard. Plus, he made seven appearances as a reserve offensive lineman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe really missed a full year of football, but [through] the reps and the training, he\u2019s kind of rebuilt his body a little bit,\u201d Belichick added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s definitely improved in that area \u2014 strength, overall conditioning, body composition, all that. He was a good football player at Michigan. ... And he\u2019s gotten a lot of reps out here.
