Tight end Marcedes Lewis re-signed with the Chicago Bears and will continue his NFL<\/a> career for a 19th season after he signed a one-year deal\u00a0on Monday, the team announced.<\/p>\n Lewis, who turned 40 on May 19, is the second-oldest active player in the NFL behind New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The four-time MVP turns 41 on Dec. 2.<\/p>\n Lewis ended last season with Chicago having played 268 career games. He became the longest-tenured tight end in NFL history in his 18th season, one more than Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.<\/p>\n In the 2023 season, Lewis made appearances in all 17 games (four starts).
