However, Favreau's MCU return may not be plausible because of his directing commitment to 2026\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mandalorian &amp; Grogu.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The name to keep an eye on is Shawn Levy (+600). Per <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/06\/shawn-levy-avengers-movie-directing-talks-1235958885\/\">Deadline<\/a>, Levy is being courted to direct\u00a0<em>Avengers 5<\/em>. Levy is the director of Marvel's next feature film, <i>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine<\/i>. Based on box office tracking,\u00a0<em>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine <\/em>will shatter box office records for an R-rated movie with an opening weekend of over $200 million domestically.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping Levy in Marvel after a hit like <em>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine\u00a0<\/em>makes sense. However, Levy's work on\u00a0<em>Stranger Things\u00a0<\/em>season 5 and the development of his\u00a0<em>Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>film may prevent him from directing <em>Avengers 5<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Like Favreau, Ryan Coogler (+800) has been rumored to direct<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Avengers 5<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
