Carter, 31, appeared in four games with the Bears in 2020. He went undrafted in 2015 out of Sacramento State.<\/p>\n<h2>Chicago Bears wide receiver\/return specialist DeAndre Carter has caught 108 passes for 1,259 yards<\/h2>\n<p>The 5-foot-8, 190-pound wideout has played 94 games (21 starts) in six seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles (2018), Houston Texans (2018-20), Bears (2020), Washington Commanders (2021), Los Angeles Chargers (2022), and Las Vegas Raiders (2023).<\/p>\n<p>Carter has caught 108 passes for 1,259 yards and six touchdowns, averaged 22.4 yards with one touchdown on 118 kickoff returns and averaged 9.8 yards on 132 punt returns. In fact, Carter recorded career highs of 46 receptions and 538 yards and matched a career best with three touchdown catches.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, he also averaged 11.7 yards per punt return with the Bolts, which ranked second in the NFL.<\/p>\n<h2>Carter is projected to fall behind Velus Jones Jr. on depth chart to start training camp<\/h2>\n<p>In 17 games with the Raiders in 2023, Carter caught four passes for 39 yards and averaged 23.8 yards on 11 kickoff returns and 9.7 yards on 24 punt returns.<\/p>\n<p>Heading into the 2024 season, Carter could be Chicago\u2019s punt returner, with veteran Dante Pettis and second-year receiver Tyler Scott as other options. Trent Taylor signed with the San Francisco 49ers in April after averaging 8.2 yards per return for the Bears last season.<\/p>\n<p>On kickoff returns, Carter is expected to be behind Velus Jones Jr. to start training camp.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it should be noted that the NFL made changes to its kickoff format.
