Free agent guard Malik Monk agreed to sign a four-year, $78 million deal to remain with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. His new contract includes a player option as well.<\/p>\n

Malik Monk will sign his new deal with Sacramento Kings when NBA's moratorium ends July 6<\/h2>\n

Monk's agents, Jeff Schwartz and Marcus Monk of Excel Sports, were able to begin negotiations Tuesday with Kings general manager Monte McNair and assistant GM Wes Wilcox. The seven-year NBA<\/a> veteran intends to sign the new deal once the league's moratorium ends July 6.<\/p>\n

Monk, 26, finished as the 2023-24 NBA's Sixth Man of the Year runner-up behind Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid. The 6-foot-3 guard\u00a0averaged career highs of 15.4 points and 5.1 assists with Sacramento.<\/p>\n
