Originally the\u00a0Dallas Chaparrals, the franchise is the only former ABA team to win an <a href=\"https:\/\/sports7.us\/tag\/nba-playoffs\/\">NBA Championship<\/a>. The Spurs resided in Dallas until the early '70s when they moved to San Antonio and developed a loyal, enthusiastic fan base.\r\n\r\nSince the 1976 ABA-NBA merger, the team has won five championships.
